I’m not who you asked, but we tried to use the USG’s VPN in our office environment and it sucked. I set up a Hyper-V environment and installed a preconfigured OpenVPN Access Server Hyper-V VM template that they have and got that set up in just a few hours as someone who had never set up a VPN before. It’s worked great for basically the entirety of COVID.
We are using a Unifi USG-3P Router and at another location we’re using a USG-Pro-4. (I work for a MSP so I help manage IT for multiple companies of which two have had this VPN issue with Unifi)
You can try going to this page where I originally found these commands and copy/paste from there to eliminate any typos or misinformation on my end: https://community.ui.com/questions/Cant-Connect-to-L2TP-VPN-after-power-outage/ad4b5600-d231-43a1-8d8d-68f7208a0269
Although from what I’ve looked at with some quick googling it looks like the UDM is missing some commands/features that the USG has. So the commands may be different or non-existent on the UDM.
You need to do “unifi-os shell” first.
Shoot, I’ll probably just have to start a thread on UniFi’s forums and hope for the best. I do have some of the smaller USGs deployed so that will definitely come in handy with those. I appreciate the help!
Oh wow thank you! I’ll be able to try this in a little bit. I appreciate it.
