VPN for crunchyroll

The question is basically in the title.

I’m sure Crunchyroll is infamous for its geo-restriction and I have been eyeing the premium plan for a while although there is one problem. Crunchyroll in my country is shit with 30 anime only. So I decided for a VPN. I want to test it at first for 30 days and then go for long term plan. Now I have a few questions:

  1. Should I buy a premium account and then use vpn with the account. (I heard some accounts got banned)
  2. Should I go with windscribe (I saw their plans as really attractive since I only need us servers and I could get that for 2 dollars/month)
  3. Any VPN which you recommend that is better than windscribe and with a good price. I am aiming for <8$
  4. Now I don’t know if this is a stupid question but should I actually buy crunchyroll premium before activating the vpn or I can buy it as it is
  5. And what is windflix and should I look out for it

Try the free version and see how it goes. Pro version could work better though.

Don’t worry about Windflix: all servers are effectively Windflix. If you’re planning to purchase build a plan go for the country instead of Windflix (United States instead of WINDFLIX US for example).

Mullvad and IVPN are the only other good VPNs I know of in the $8 range and these two don’t support streaming as far as I’m aware.

Not sure if this helps but I use windflix with Crunchyroll and have no issues. I had Crunchyroll before I got a VPN, though I would recommend trying the free trial with both

If you only need it for crunchyroll. I suggest you go for Proton VPN’s free version. Since it’ll give you unlimited bandwidth for the USA servers which you need as Crunchyroll has the max titles in USA. As for how Windscribe is for crunchyroll, for desktop it’s fine. But for mobile app it’s so-so. Constant buffering on the mobile app with almost every protocol. Only found one server where i could stream at 720p on the mobile app. So go for proton vpn if your sole purpose is to watch crunchyroll. Of all the vpns I tested (5-6) . Proton works the best for crunchyroll. It’s a specific case since big names like Surfshark and others don’t work either.

after trying and trying with lots of vpn after seeing your comment I tried proton and surprisingly it worked thanks a lot

No problem. Investing in something like a vpn plan needs to be chosen with care. Especially so when it’s your hard earned money.
