I know that i shouldn’t download a torrent without one, but I’m not sure which one should I use, any recommendation would be appreciated, specially if it’s affordable or a free solution
I like AirVpn. I found them to be affordable and they allow port forwarding.
If you don’t care about port forwarding use mulvad, they’ve been raided a few times and never given any information, if you do want port forwarding use protonvpn, idk if this was a deal for me because I already have protonvpn but I just paid $20 for a year because of their black friday discount.
Mullvad, very affordable. Only 5€ per month, no logs.
Pay a visit to r/VPNTorrents and you’ll get a lot of guidance.
Personally I like and am using protonvpn
Just remembered all the youtube vpn channels are paid off by nord (and surfshark its sister Company) for torrenting you SHOULD have port forwarding for Better and consistent speed specially if you download 4K content and old content not the most popular ones. Nord have bots to monitor your activity so that no one can abuse ip (many accounts ban over the year for web scraping), I almost tested every vpn and the best one is Proton followed by nord(don’t buy surf only buy it if you are very low on budget or using just to just for browsing or random YT videos i.e. not a power user) so for torrenting in nord you will see throttle in nord for a brief amount of second and then ramp up as they mostly throttle seeding for long time or after yours downloaded (I double checked with its customer support). Proton is not what is used to be but now it became non-profit company which is way better and it works same if I used 200GB or 2 MB on a connection no throttle whatsoever. If you are tight on budget and want only for torrenting then PIA is also good contender(you will not get very fast speed if you have a gigabit connection and want to utilise it fully then Don’t buy it, and you need to do some digging around i.e. experiment with servers to get a stable ping and max speed sometimes (too many customers less staff and server issues) and heavily abused Ip’s sometimes as its court proven to retain no log)(and also PIA doesn’t work on mobile data for some reason) I also used nord just for its meshnet feature but its free so…
I hope this helps feel free to ask any questions.
I use PIA on my qbit.
Plenty are out there, but I would recommend you to pick one among these: ProtonVPN, Mullvad and iVPN.
I’m with Proton, but support these two as well.
Since you mentioned an affordable option, look at iVPN with less device support. You can just use it on your PC /laptop and mobile at the same time (2 device option is affordable).
I use PIA they usually have good multi year offers
I’ve been with TorGuard for nearly 4 years, and it has port forwarding.
I use proton and airvpn. Proton is faster but you can only port forward through the apps. The main downside for me is when setting it up through my router I can’t port forward hence why I also use airvpn. The proton servers are waaayyy better and faster then airvpn. Like most things in life there is no perfect solution…
I use Proton, is one of the best IMHO it’s 9.99/mo
Torguard, one of the very few to offer port forwarding.
I like proton allows port forwarding and split tunneling.
Hide.me vpn has dynamic upnp that works. Using it on win and Linux successfully. Blackfriday deal of 27 months makes it affordable.
In wich count do you live in? Vpn is only necessary if you live on the US or some of Europe
OpenVPN with iptables port forwarding (for High ID) > https://github.com/angristan/openvpn-install
