VPN recommendation for Singapore

Hi, my Private Internet Access subscription is ending, so I’m looking for a VPN plan.

It should not log, have servers in Singapore, have fast connection speeds, and affordable (PIA is $3.33/month which is awesome).

Does anyone have recommendations?

Why not continue using PIA? It’s one of the cheapest ones out there and is reputable.

I’ve been using NordVPN for nearly two years now. Fast enough; reliable; no logging; DNS leak protection. Now with dozens of nodes in Singapore, as well as in 60 other countries.

The only ties I have to them are as a very satisfied customer.

Honest question. What do you guys use a VPN for? Are u all really concerned about privacy? Or if it’s for slightly illegal stuff, wouldn’t a “server in Singapore” negate all of it since the authorities will have access to the data anyway.

Am on express VPN… gives me US Netflix!

I’ve used both PIA and NordVPN and they are both great, NordVPN has a much better designed app and allows you to choose between servers (but it does require you to use email to login so if you are a true privacy nut this is the drawback). Personally couldn’t stomach paying so much per month (I don’t like paying for annual plans that are much cheaper) and taking a speed drop so I stopped using them.

/r/NoLogsVPN if you need more info

Tried PIA and Nord, but Express is the fastest by far.

I use the free VPN that comes with getflix subscription (getflix used to manage region blocking on global streaming sites. Getflix.com.au

Also Opera browser has a free in built VPN but not sure how robust this is, but I thought better than nothing!

How about Torguard? I’m using both PIA and Torguard atm. Torguard seems to have a better torrenting speed

Windscribe has a lifetime option for 49USD iirc.

ProtonVPN has servers in SG

Tunnelbear! Its free

If u just want to visit restricted website u can try changing Ur DNS . It’s free

Well I love trying new things, so if there’s a competitive alternative I’d be keen to give it a go

do vpns work with netflix? and other streaming sites/apps?

If you do online shopping, you may notice some results don’t show up when you browse from Singapore. This may be because they don’t ship to SG, but one can use 3rd party forwarders to ship them. Using a VPN allows you the option to see those.

Also, some streaming services block content based on your IP geographic information.

For me, I am concerned about privacy.

Also, if it doesn’t log, there is no data for the authorities to access.

you dont have to be “really” concerned abot privacy to use one, as long as you value any form of privacy at all you should use a vpn

this applies to all countries but is especially important in singapore where we have no privacy at all

Does it give you access to Hulu?

I’m getting about 100mbps/100mbps on ExpressVPN, it’s not slow by any measure but with PIA I was getting 200mbps/300mbps.

Hmm
