I’m posting this here since it’s about sideloading apps

So, I’m trying to configure a “vpn” in order to use an hamachi connection on my quest.

In fact I have a local minecraft server where I play with friends sometimes, and I’ve been able to connect to it on my android phone using the vpn settings and pojav launcher.

Now I’d like to do the same using my quest, I see the vpn option in settings, but no way to add a connection.

Alright, so this is not coming from me. From some article I found xD

  1. Put you oculus into developer mode (since your side loading im gonna assume this is done)

  2. Get a side loading app, I heavily recommend
    side-quest (Advanced to install apks)

  3. Get a vpn (buy the think, I’m also going to assume this is done)

  4. Download and install your vpns apk to quest (it’s in the top tool bar of side quest)

  5. Select and connect to your vpn!

I got access to vpn using Pi Launcher. Maybe that’ll work for you?

I know this isn’t technically a solution but you could always port forward. It’s not that difficult and if you need help I can facilitate it.

In fact I’m using the vpn option to connect to the LogMeIn Hamachi servers, I’m not using a real vpn, and hamachi doesn’t have an apk, but thanks for your answer

Idk if there is a way to force a vpn connection to appear, via another settings app, maybe I need root access (I don’t know if root is even a thing on quest never though of it until now)

That’s what I used one the screenshots, but it’s missing the little “+” button, for adding a connection. Maybe I’m missing an update?

You need another app to facilitate VPN connection.

Wireguard works well, although the initial setup is a PITA because the file picker doesn’t work and you have to either type the config in manually or use SideQuest’s paste function.

Shadowsocks works too, although it’s not a VPN exactly.

Stuff like ZeroTier should work as well, but I haven’t tested it.

Sadly i cant give anymore advice past that, unfortunately when it comes to quest pirating and hidden menus im still a rookie
