Apologies for the question. I did try to find an answer on my own first, but I don’t know enough to evaluate what little info I was able to find.
A few years ago I bought a lifetime subscription to VPN Unlimited. The service was, and continues to be, well reviewed.
Now that I am a Protonmail subscriber I get the free version of the Proton VPN.
So I’m wondering which is better, the paid version of VPN Unlimited or the free version of Proton VPN? I doubt I would get the paid version of Proton VPN unless it was radically better than the paid version of VPN Unlimited.
Thanks in advance!
ProtonVPN is great, the paid version has every single feature you can imagine and then some. I used NordVPN for a long time and then I used ProtonVPN and I was getting 2x, 3x the speeds than I was using NordVPN.
Give it a shot, do a few speed test and if you like it definitely buy premium. They offer package deals for ProtonVPN and Protonmail premium.
I suggest you try and see how you like (or don’t) protonvpn. However for further questions, I’d like to point towards /r/protonvpn.
ProtonVPN free is a bit slow IMO. It may get faster if you get a subscription, but I find the free version a tad slow.
If you want to compare you need a paid plan of Proton VPN. The free version is slow, has only 3 servers and no bittorrent support.
It will most likely be slower, however the 3 server statement is wrong. It is pool of servers, with loads of servers behind.
