VPN Works on one mac but not another

Hey all. I have a friend that recently upgraded from an old MacBook air to a new m3 one. She was able to use a VPN on her old one to bypass school wifi restrictions but she isn’t able to do that on her new mac. If any information is needed to help please ask!

What VPN app? How is it not working?

Any one that i have tried doesn’t work. I’ve tried a bunch of protocols as well. It says “connected” in the app but no connection to websites ever go through.

There isn’t so much an error as it just won’t load any websites at all- they get stuck around 25% on the bar and stop.

I use NordVPN, just added a new M3Pro MBP to replace an older i7 13” MBP and have no issues with the VPN

Delete all unused protocols. Then try again with only one installed and active.

She has a Nord subscription and that doesn’t work. The interesting this is that any vpn works on my mac (M3 Pro MBP), any vpn works on her old mac, but for some reason when connected to the same wifi as her other two no vpn/proxy works.

I would check your VPN settings and make sure you are logged in to your account at NordVPN and you have downloaded the latest VPN app from NordVPN.

What VPN settings are there to check? I’ve heard of telling it to route all traffic through the vpn but i’ve never actually been able to find that setting.

You can go to NordVPN web page and the tutorial will explain the installation and setup for your device.

I don’t think the issue is nord specific. Nothing else works on the device either.
