Which of the major VPNs such as AirVPN or Mullvad etc does port forwarding at the provider rather than user set up?
I recall trying to set that up on home DSL modem years ago and the ISP was not co-operative. These days I would like to have that done by the provider.

There are two kinds of port forwarding, and that’s the other kind. This kind just needs your VPN and your client. Much easier.
Realize that port forwarding capabilities vary from VPN to VPN. Some won’t do forwarding with non-Windows clients, some only do temporary forwarding unless you pay extra, some give more ports than others, etc. Pretty sure AirVPN is by far the most generous with port forwarding.
Don’t know about others, but it’s very easy on Mullvad.
I swear mulvad have agents here or it’s clever marketing and users who have paid £5 trying to feel better.
Thanks for all the replies. Still a lot to think about. Does AirVPN have one of those dedicated reddits mentioned?
I think all of this would be easier if there was a pdf guide for setting up a VPN-- just the documentation with screen shots so I can get the gist of the process. Any clues about getting that pdf or other print form which is complete-- like a user manual?
With AirVPN you just assign a port on their Client section of the web site, then use that port for whatever app needs it. Pretty straight forward.
Ivacy does it this way as well. Allow up to five (5) different ports.
