You can just keep on using new email accounts. The only reason I have a subscription is because $3 a month is very little to avoid having to create new emails and not always having a vpn available.
But for people who aren’t as heavy vpn users or maybe wouldn’t mind creating new emails every three days, it seems incredibly easy to abuse with all the same safety as a paid account.
You don’t need a CC number? Just an email address?
BTW, the trial isn’t immediately obvious, but if you go into the FAQ, you can see it there under Billing.
Welp, they changed it now.
Yea just an email address. Mullvad also has a similar trial, but it’s only for three hours but doesn’t even need an email. The catch with mullvad is that you don’t get all the features of a paid account, like a killswitch for example.
But with nord apparently you get all the features…and it’s just an email. It’s odd honestly.
Thanks. I’ve been want to try them out, but I already have a yearly subscription for another VPN (that doesn’t work with Netflix). I hate giving my CC, because there is a 50/50 chance I’ll forget to cancel before the trail is up!
Haha I can see that happening with me too
I was thinking, NordVPN can certainly see your home IP address, so it’s possible they would stop you from connecting repeatedly from home using a new 3 day trial again and again, even if the email used to sign up is different.
I just want to try to see how well it works, so 3 days is good for me.
Yea I thought the exact same thing too, but when I was testing out nord before buying I tried it for a good 2-3 weeks on and off and I made sure to use the same IP to make emails and get the trial and I was able to continue without fail.
