What is the best adblocker for free and are there any like the vpn adblockers that blocks all ads on your whole phone and not only in browsers?

To block ads in websites, Firefox + uBlock Origin.
To block ads in apps, set your dns to “dns.adguard-dns.com”.
if you have an android phone, you can use firefox (actually, you can also use firefox on your PC) and use uBlock Origin.
Adguard seems to have decent reviews for a VPN based ad blocker, AdAway also has a VPN based ad blocker and a host based if you don’t mind rooting.
I used the AdAway VPN which is quite inconsistent, like, sure, it WILL block ads, but sometimes it does by blocking all traffic, the host method works way better but again, requires rooting

I wonder why everbody is recommending Adguard, “device wide ad blocking” isn’t working at all for me.
Its good but this breaks so many pages, banks, google mail, and others.
I think you have to pay for the premium to get device wide ad blocking
I did and it’s not working
