I tried to open steam and it said no connection so I decided to take a peek at the wifi list. It said I was connected to my usual wifi and no issues with the connection, but ‘polarbear’ another wifi source I was somehow also connected to had no internet. I saw this polarbear thing in different locations so its not the neighbor’s wifi. I have a mcafee VPN installed. Is that what polarbear is? It appeared long after I enabled the VPN so I’m not completely sure. Should I be worried about a computer virus or is it just the VPN?
I have the same issue…did you figure it out? Also cannot connect to the internet and showing Polarbear ad the filter…
Not sure if anyone is still struggling with this issue two years later, but Polarbear VPN is installed with McAffee antivirus.
I disabled the mcafee VPN and have connection, I will contact Mcafee to get help now
You have probably installed the TunnelBear VPN.
Just stop using mcafee
Same… upgraded to windows 11, all kinds of driver issues. Driver incompatibility. Problem is “which driver”
No, I did not figure it out. My PC just forgot about Polarbear one day. Now I am connected to my usual network. It’s strange because it shows no evidence of Polarbear ever existing and my VPN is still on.
Same here! Message me if you find anything out please.
No matter which network/wifi I connect to it say no internet access
Still cannot figure it out…can’t connect to internet…disabled all firewalls and still nothing. I am just baffled
I think it’s the upgrade to windows 11, computers bought with 10 should stay with 10. I’ve updated my Dell hardware, drivers … all of it. Changed to foxfire, better, but 2 year laptop has lost some of its lustre…
I’ve managed to find a quick fix that only lasts temporarily (until my screen locks). I disable then enable my network adapter that I use for wifi then immediately restart the computer. Internet should work after that. Without this hack I wouldn’t be able to connect to anything. Funny this started to happen immediately after I installed Mcafee antivirus
That’s strange. I don’t understand it either. Good luck, hopefully it just dissapears like with mine.
Any updates on what happened? I’m having the same issue.
I don’t have McAfee and I also have polarbear and cannot stay connected to wifi. When I am able to connect often it says 'no Internet ’ but after a short time that turns to a normal Internet connection. Has anyone figured out what the polarbear is and how it.got there? I’m running windows 11 on a surface laptop. I just got it new/ refurbished in January and the problem with the Internet started about 1 months ago.
No…it actually re-connected by itself but coincidentally it just stopped connecting again for me two days ago. I have not been able to resolve it…just keep re- starting my computer hoping it will start working again.
I did a network reset and that seems to fix the issue if anyone is still struggling with this
