Wi-Fi Calling in India

Any update on our ability to use wifi calling in India? Verizon and TMo have this. I like ATT, but need wifi calling with my US number in India for various reasons.
If ATT isn’t going to ever support this, then I guess I’ll switch over 5 lines to one of the other carriers. Would love to know if they’re working on this at all. Thanks.

I’ve used AT&T Wifi Calling while in China. I connected to a Wifi router that had a built-in VPN and setup the VPN to connect to Tokyo. I then disabled location services for the Wifi calling services in the iPhone. Then I started calling away like I was in the US.

The blocking of wifi calling in a particular country isn’t usually the choice of AT&T. It’s usually due to local government regulations and the inability of the AT&T to comply with Indian regulations on wifi calling. India has very restrictive laws and regulations on connectivity and calling.

AT&T still has it disabled in a few countries which India is one of. If you have a router with a built in VPN functionality you might be able to get around the restrictions.
