Is there a NordVPN discount code you can use on the other sites or is it more of a sign up for these services in Zimbabwe type thing?
It’s not a discount code, it is the regional price difference.
I’m not sure about the exact price, but someone in the US probably pays more USD compared to someone in Argentina or Turkey. What they do is VPN to Argentina or Turkey and pay less USD even after converting from their local currency.
Other than what other commenters said, another issue would be actually paying for these services when connected to a server.
If you have American payment methods, but try to use them for your Spotify or other subscription in India, it may not work out for obvious reasons.
Well… it’s true. These are the prices I pay:
Apple music £0.90 (Turkey)
Tidal HiFi: £2 (Colombia)
Disney plus: £20/ year (Turkey)
Netflix Premium: £5 (Turkey)
Youtube Premium: £0.80 (Argentina)
I was lucky enough to visit Turkey and get a phone number from there. In the past, it was easier to sign up for these services. However, it is not so easy anymore.
Yeah if you want to sign up for all these services telling them you live in India or something, you will get lower prices. But you will have to use your VPN every time you want to access content (not always possible!) and there might be major regional differences in what content is even available. For example, the shows available on Netflix etc are different in the USA vs India. Also, all of these providers are routinely blacklisting VPN servers so you will likely have frequent service interruptions waiting for NordVPN to change their servers up to bypass things. It’s also likely a violation of the ToS for these providers and if they figure out what you’re doing there may be consequences there, including banning etc.
In short, yes you can “scam” your way to lower prices, but it will be inconvenient as hell and some/much content will be unavailable to you.
Paying more money does not equate to basically making NordVPN free. LOL! Seriously?
Use a killswitch if you do
This is not at all true. Once you buy it you can just turn the VPN off and use it wherever you want. Some services will just tell you it thinks you’re abroad and available shows might be different.
I moved from Australia to Europe and kept paying Aussie prices for 2 years.
First of all you said it’s “not true at all” then proceeded to say that you experienced EXACTLY what I said would happen. Which is it?
You said you would have to continue using a VPN to access the service.
I said that’s not true, I was able to access the services for years in Europe whilst paying in Australia…
