Anybody else can’t connect to apple AppStore while on onion over VPN with an openTCP protocol?
Do you get any errors or does the App Store simply not load? Try switching to UDP, as the TOR network already slows down your connection speed a lot.
It’ll say unable please try again later or something along those lines. Its an off and on problem. I also have an issue with not being able to assign IP on onion servers. And when I go into my app it’ll say not connected for a split moment before it says the connection is fine. Ugh so many little problems with NORD it seems
Does this happen without onion?
Onion is based on tor obviously and not part of nord.
Usually running your connection over Tor ( onion) brings all sort of issues with it, it’s honestly only a feature for people at “risk” like journalists in risk country’s.
Trying to avoid convoluting my question with details, but i consider my privacy at risk. And I know it’s different but nord offers it. When you use IKEv2 or openTCP protocol, you have option to connect to the onion network alongside your VPN. I do so to access sites, information, and content that I otherwise can’t access on safari. And it works fine sometimes but other times it’s stuck on “assigning IP”… and that worries me that my traffic may not actually be going thru the onion network. Despite it saying connected all around the board, besides IP address assignment.
Yeah that’s normal, the onion network is extremely slow.
It’s also recommended to use the tor browser instead of other solutions to access the tor network it’s way safer that way.
Just connect to your vpn ( without onion) and then start the tor browser.
Could you elaborate as to how it’s safer?
I’m pretty sure I’ve read somewhere stating that connecting via tcp/ikev2 exposes your information if you don’t use a tor protocol when connecting to tor browser. Does it not?
