I am using the free service do I always use the USA servers if I am in the US? What is benefit of using the Japan or the Netherlands servers?
Logic would say the servers closest to you, but if the country is not a concern it’s worth experimenting. With a minimum of a six-hour time difference between the US and Europe that would mean at 6 PM in the US, it would be midnight in Europe leading often to a lower ‘local’ load and potentially a faster connection.
Beyond that, there are no security differences between the US, Netherlands, or Japan servers. P2P traffic (torrenting) is not supported (on free servers) so that aspect is not a consideration.
Whatever is closest to you.
The other ones are sometimes used to access content from another country or where data laws are much less strict.
Is there a way to use an IP from the same city/state all the time? If I use Brave browser does it matter what IP I have?
