I’m trying to disconnect or quit the Nord VPN MacOS app. Can’t uninstall the software, can’t update it, it’s stuck. I’m just clicking on close or disconnect and nothing happens. This is quite frustrating, to be honest. Any ideas?
Have you tried from MacOS network settings ?
>Go to System Preferences > Network.
>Select your VPN connection from the left panel.
.>Click Disconnect.
Don’t have a mac did you try restarting the computer.

You can try force quitting the app by pressing command+option+escape and then try reinstalling Nord app
Might be because you’ve got it set to auto connect?
u/rorokeu I just had the same issue. It doesn’t let me change location, and when I go to “System Preferences > Network > NordVPN IKE” and every time I click “Disconnect” it immediately reconnects.
I’m wondering if this has to do with a new update that automatically came out Oct 25th. Maybe software bug?
Like you I just delete NordVPN to deal with it.
I had this same issue and it was completely broken.
Nord would start at launch, and then I couldn’t disconnect or quit Nord, it would be stuck in “Connecting”. Meanwhile, the internet would not work.
Had to manually kill Nord and NordLynx, and quickly move the Application to trash before NordLynx started again.
Cancelled my subscription and chose a different VPN
I had the same issue on my Mac and I realized I had 2 NordVPN apps running. I deleted the old one now I’m able to connect/disconnect normally
Make sure you have only the latest NordVPN app in your applications folder

Saw this late. I had the same problem. I was connected to another country and couldn’t quit Nord or change to my home country. I was logged out in the app, so when I went to my account and logged in, everything worked normally.
I had the same issue. Turns out it signed out on its own, and I had to manually sign back in in Preferences.
I wasnt able to turn it off until I signed in, then the discinnect button starting responding, and i could change servers.

Yes, I restarted it and it’s behaving very weirdly… It’s always open, so can’t quit it. I even tried to disable opening it by default, but it still does it. Do I have to reset my computer just because of this buggy software?
It doesn’t even show up at the force quit section of Mac.
Their release note doesn-t exactely dwelve into details… but if the issue started after the update you should raise it to their support
Before contacting them, check the DNS server that is being used
> Connect your Mac device to internet with Ethernet cable
> Go to System Preferences and click Network
> Select the network interface “Ethernet connected”
>> if the IPV4 adress using DHCP displayed isn’'t the one belonging to your ISP, and looks like 103.86.96.100 or 103.86.99.100, then it means that the default DNS server is NordVPN’s instead of your ISP… So you’ll need to revert back to it and see if it solves the problem:

If the issue happens only when you are connecting via WIFI, I believe it’s an expected behavior to have Nordlinx kick in automatically; so the solution wouldn’t be to try to disconnect Nordlynx, but to change the device’s WiFI network…but their support team will have to confirm this.
To avoid receiving a standard first response-type answer from their support team, recap in your first contact with them all the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far, so that your issue can be escalated to L2 enginers more easily and rapidly

Same issue here, only my IP address is still showing I’m in another country. It’s almost like I’ve quit the VPN app, uninstalled it and somehow the vpn connection is still active. It’s really bizzare
