So I’m trying to ininstall avast since it was suspending the most of apps I’m using but I can’t even end it in task manager, it says “access denied” , please help
You shouldn’t be able to end task for antivirus. If you were able, any malware could do so.
What does happens if you click uninstall from Control Panel > Programs and Features?
If you have a problem removing Avast Antivirus using normal method, you can download Avast Uninstall Tool (avastclear.exe) from
search add or remove programs or in the control pannel
try wiztree or windirstat
I would do a boot into safe mode then uninstall through the control panel…
I think there a separate uninstaller on the Avast website (help section.) Install that and follow the instructions from the website.
Based on my knowledge beforfe AVAST very aggrassive if you intend to uninstall. First open windows services and stop all services for avast. Same way stop it from task manager. restart your machine and retry to uninstall. then restart your machine again to make sure it wasnt there.
Use a program like Revo Uninstaller. IF you partially removed Avast, reinstall it, then use Revo to remove everything.
It does partly uninstall it , however it’s still located in program files and still active when I click on its icon

How would those tools help? They just tell you disk space usage. OP needs Revouninstaller.

You’re supposed to restart computer after uninstalling to get rid of the residual files left over. Try restarting and if it’s still there then it didn’t really uninstall.
If you find that it didn’t uninstall, try this:
Right-click the Windows Start icon, then click “Apps and Features” then when the Apps and Features window pops up, click Avast Free Antivirus, then click the Uninstall button. If you get the UAC prompt click Yes. Then it should start uninstalling.
That could work, but you would loose all your other files/work too … unless you have them installed/placed on a separate drive…
Are u loggin as admin or user ? mostly got this denied issues once you are not as an admin.
I restarted right after and it’s still active on my wi dows, gives me notifications and all that shit
Yes, no I do it like all the time and it only deletes my apps not files, the files are intact
