Connected to UK vpn server and i get " BBC iPlayer only works in the UK. Sorry"? this happens on the nationial lottery website as well… why do i get this message if i am connected to a nordvpn UK server?
I’d suggest contacting Nord’s customer support so they could help you access the service, as some of the servers might be blocked by the iPlayer itself.
They have lists of IP ranges that are VPN servers and block them.

This happens me if I don’t disconnect safari from BBC Iplayer regularly. It happens if I leave both safari open in bbc iplayer and nordvpn …it’s like after a long time the iplayer figures it out.
But so long as i switch UK ip addresses or don’t leave a page open on bbc iplayer, it’s ok. Hope that makes sense.
Probably because it is/was filmed at BBC studios, was filmed by the BBC, and both are funded by The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport.
i changed to a few servers in the UK and eventually it worked.
so i guess some servers are blocked
I’ve tried every server in that list and still no luck. Cleared cookies, changed browsers, etc. It’s been this way a while for me.
Check on ipleak.net that you only see the Nord IP and DNS.
Thanks for the reply. Checked: no IPv4 leak, no DNS requests leaked, and IPv6 test not reachable. (I even tried turning off IPv6 support on the router to completely rule a leak out there, but made no difference on iPlayer itself.)
The weirdest thing is that I can access it fine on my phone using the Nord Android app (any random UK server seems to work).
Ipad is probably your issue. The app will probably be using location of your device. Use a laptop or something like a firestick.
I don’t have an iPad haha – I’m using a laptop. (Safari browser, but have tried switching, to no avail.)
