I live in south america and have been into melee for two years, always watching but never playing beyond bots with an xbox controller. I want to get a vpn for better matchmaking, any recommendations?
PS im working to get a gc controller so i only need help with the vpn part.
Please do not do this, nobody has fun playing triple digit ping matches because people subverted the matchmaking
Please don’t do this. The connection will be awful and it’ll be the opposite of fun for everyone involved.
So if you connect to a VPN, then queue for unranked or ranked, you’ll be matched with people near the VPN’s region, however the ping between you and the VPN server, as well as ping between your opponent and the VPN server, will both factor into the equation with regards to match ping. So even though you’ll have more people to match against, your connection to them will be terrible and you’ll have high ping and delay. I wouldn’t recommend doing this as it won’t be very fun for you or your opponents in the end, I’ve matched against people doing this and I quit out every time I see 100+ ping.
just don’t. I promise you will have more fun waiting 10-20 minutes for a match rather than having 250 ping.
