Has anyone deployed the Ivanti Connect Secure app with intune?

I created a package yesterday for it, sine we’re moving over to it. Wanted to test the install and make sure everything works. It’s a 56m download from their site.

However, using the IntuneWinApp utility, when i created the intune package, it came back as a whopping 29G file. I deleted it, exported the contents of the MI and saw it’s only 130MB at best.

Recreated the intune file, this time it was 9.6G. Deleted this one, and recreated it. Same steps as all the other msi apps, now it’s 2.6G.

To me this is very large for a small vpn client. It got it to install, but over a slower connection, this will take many moons.

I’ve installed a lot of app created this way, this is the only one that has done this.

I reached out to them and all i got as a response was “no, we do not have information on packaging across different platforms.

Just wondering if anyone else with this app ran into this or how you’re deploying it with intune.

EDIT:

Figured out the issue. I was running the script with the setup folder as C:\Temp, like i did all of the others. Apparently it’s just buggy. This never happened to the other apps created.

I created an Ivanti folder in C:\temp and put the MSI there. Re-ran the Intune packaging tool and it created it in less than a minute at 53.02MB. It uploads to Intune A LOT faster and downloads to the endpoints a lot faster.

Don’t know the specifics but if it’s extracting before installing then you might be able to package the extracted contents and then run whatever installer inside?

Thought of that as well. But there is no actual setup.exe or msi one extracted. It’s a few uninstaller and helper exe’s and the rest are dll files.

nothing so far has helped create an intune package from the extracted msi.

just never seen a package inflate like that before.

The backup is always just message the company and tell them you can’t use their product without automated deployment
