Does using a VPN to watch Netflix from Greek give you a bunch of native, modern content? My friend is learning Greek and I recommended he do what I’m doing which is use the Language Learning with Netflix chrome extension with Netflix to immerse. Unfortunately, there really isn’t that much content for him on American Netflix.
Edit: I kind already know VPN’s still work. I’m wondering specifically how is GREEK Netflix
Unfortunately Netflix has learned the VPN region-escape trick, and they’ve identified and blocked most VPN servers.
Yea you can watch any Netflix region with the top tier VPN providers, they still work.

I’ve heard Nord is still good at getting around this
I use Nord. I sometimes get caught, but very rarely.
Surfshark still works, which I only know because I keep forgetting to turn it off and it takes Parks and Rec away
Dunno if they have Greece though. The Danish connection redirects you to US Netflix, so having Greece as a country doesn’t mean they have Greek Netflix
Also if Greece has TV channels available online a la BBC iPlayer in the UK, I would use a VPN to access those rather than Netflix
Hm. I might have to try them, then. TunnelBear gets dinged every time.
TunnelBear is free right? I’ve heard only the premium vpns can still afford to keep up with Netflix
I think there’s some tiny annual fee, but it’s much cheaper than Nord, I’m pretty sure.
I paid like $100 for 3 years for Tunnelbear (it was through one of those rebate offers on Swagbucks so I received >$100 in Amazon for my trouble). It uses shared servers, so most of the big name streamers recognize that it’s a VPN and don’t allow access: e.g. in Canada(CBC), UK(BBC), Finland(YLE), Italy(RAI), none were fooled. However, Tunnelbear still functions for privacy (which is nice), and it works well if you want youtube to think you’re in France and show you French ads (language learning via ads!). I’m gonna try out Cyberghost through a similar SB promotion, I think it might have better luck in fooling some streaming platforms, but Netflix is the most strict out of the streaming services when it comes to identifying VPNs. Nord is definitely the leading VPN “fighting the good fight”, but it’s too expensive for me (I get a decent amount of Brazilian content on the US Netflix site).
