So I didn’t do a ton of research before buying tunnelbear. I have been downloading torrents with utorrent with tunnelbear turned on, and have had no problems. Just today, I learned that tunnelbear doesn’t allow torrenting, and supposedly blocks it… but I have been downloading files just fine. What has been happening? Did utorrent somehow get past tunnelbear’s blocking, or have I been downloading torrent files unencrypted?
Now thinking about switching to NordVPN, since that seems to have good reviews for torrent use. (edit: or protonvpn? or airvpn? oh god there are so many options now I’m paralyzed by indecision :P)

Just curious, what is the source for that information?
The reason I ask is that historically TunnelBear did indeed block torrents but they’ve since removed that information from their support pages. So it is possible they do allow torrents now.
You are a TunnelBear customer, have you already asked their support? I’d be interested to hear what they tell you.

You should be able to share files on our network, If you run into any issues, however, we do suggest using Canada, US, UK, Romania, Netherlands, Germany, or Sweden as your preferred tunnels. The reason you cannot see a statement on Torrents on our website is because we don’t have a stance either way.
