You should be able to get on VPN from home; that’s the point of the VPN. If you’re going to be doing research like this, you should really make sure you have it.
I didn’t actually d/l the article; I just checked to see if it would let me. These kinds of industry reports often do complicated tracking and logging, even within PDF files. If you can’t get VPN access, DM me your g.ucla.edu email address, and I’ll send it to that.
