I was able to use kodi for the first day. Since then, every time I go to choose the movie, it loads then kicks me off ipvanish, brings me to the screen to log on. I have reset, tried asgard, Shazam, etc. This is driving me crazy. Any help is much ly appreciated.
Kodi wouldn’t kick you off ipvanish. It is completely incapable of doing so. Sounds as if ipvanish is kicking you off ipvanish
Thats what I’m wondering why. I’ve never had a problem with ipvanish in the past, im use realdebrid, it worked fine first day. I disabled my pihole thinking it was causing something but guess I’ll do some further investigating. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.
Might be better served in an IP Vanish forum. I did use IP Vanish but stopped using them when I was having issues with their refusing to provide RD with details to add IP Vanish to RD White list/cooperative VPN list. But I see they are there now. Real-Devrid.com. I’m one of very few supporters of using a VPN with kodi that you will find on here. Good luck. Like I said, another forum may be better. Also take a look at the IP Vanish log. Open a ticket with them.
There is nothing “wrong” with using a VPN if it makes you happy. It’s just that a lot of users don’t really understand the technical side of a VPN. They just assume that without a VPN your device will melt down and you’ll go to prison. lol
That’s why we like to educate them that a VPN serves no real purpose when connecting to debrid. With the exception of some countries where you need a VPN to get a good connection to debrid. The misconceptions come from all the VPN marketing because it’s a way to make easy money when hosting a website. It’s the new Viagra of spam.
If you have RD with Kodi do you still think it’s necessary to have a VPN? Currently I have Kodi with both RD and IP Vanish and am considering dropping the VPN. Your thoughts?
Thank you. That’s what I was wondering as well. I haven’t kept up with vpns and streaming over the years. I guess I’ll go down the rabbit hole. But if you don’t mind, why are people running realdebrid without vpn, seems like a possible way to get that email from your ISP.

The trouble comes when you connect directly to peers while downloading a torrent. Any peer in a hive can see your IP address. They can then contact your ISP informing them of the violation from that address.
With a cloud download manager like Real-Debrid, they are the ones connecting to that hive. Which prevents the most common scenario of entrapment.
There are things you can do online that will bring the hammer of justice down on you despite the usual safe guards but downloading a movie isn’t one of those things.

Thanks for the lesson. But I have worked in IT, networking, data and web, for 30 years. I think I know pretty well how VPN works from a network engineering perspective. Thank you for taking the time to be condescending and insulting. And yet, still not answering the OPs question. It was very helpful.
