ExpressVPN is getting expense and wanted to know if getting NordVPN is a viable option.
I got a subscription sometime back, and it works like a charm. I use it in computers, mobiles, and in my headless Linux server at home. All scenarios work fine for me. It’s fast, and a shit ton of servers are there. Not only that, they got specialized servers for certain kind of traffic which have better performance for said kind of traffic.
I’ve used ExpressVPN and moved to Nord last year. I travel globally, use all the time with no issue across iOS, padOS, Win10/11, Firestick and AppleTV.
So far so good.
Random long term NordVPN user here. Yes, their service is solid. The app itself can be very intrusive if you let it (kill switch, auto-connect, mesh-net, dark-web monitor). Their nordlynx is also fast and reliable, i would have preferred just wireguard protocol, so i can combine it with my mikrotik but whatever. So for an “average” user - definitely yes, a good vpn provider.
Also, i am non bias. I tried, and I have a couple of other paid providers for myself, like PIA, proton etc.

Ive been using NordVPN for months after the LastPass breach & it does the job well…
Used it for years, great stuff and supports pretty much everything you need. Want to torrent some bulky Linux ISOs but want to stay private? They support torrents. Does your TV wrongly put you in a wrong country but you want to watch TV or content intended for your country? There’s Android TV support. Phone? Supported. Hardly experience slowdowns, but they do happen. I just switch to another server once that is the case
Been a NordVPN user for 3-4 years now.
It’s a lot more solid now than when I got it. No problems at all in the last couple years. It defaults to having a killswitch, meaning that if the VPN server goes down, your internet is blocked until it gets attached to another server. This works great for me, as I don’t have to do any configuring and it just works. I don’t leak any data to my ISP or anyone monitoring my traffic (if I were to sail the open seas).
I will say that I have a separate laptop that I use for NordVPN, it’s not on all the computers on my network. But never had a problem on the laptop. It’s an M1 MacAir, BTW. And MacOS support is great.
Also, the phone app works fine. I use it occasionally when I need to access Dropbox and similar sites on my work’s wifi.
I have been using NordVPN for more than 2 years now. So far happy with the service.
I’m happy with Nord. Although I mainly use it for streaming sports and changing Netflix libraries. Speeds are fast and doesn’t lag. Have it for my PC, phone and headless Linux server. All works good and I don’t think I had any issues. Speed is also solid.
Been working great for me tha last few years. Speed is never an issue, and it works with changing Netflix location, works with BBC iPlayer (to pretend you’re in the UK).
No issues, I use it worldwide.

I compared it to two others and it rocks compared to those. The meshnet is incredible. Highly worth the time to configure a router.
