Passed Sec+ Today

I thought to share my experience Maybe someone in need use this info … I am Previously CISA Cert. It took me 35-40 Days to prepare and take exam but i studied Atleast 3 hours daily . I take all Messer Classes took notes from it and Done messer’s Practice Exam ( That is must i think if u haven’t Studied Thoroughly ) .

Few things I want to share !

1- Previously i knows that Exam is of 90 questions in 90 minutes thats included 5-6 PBQ’s . But Today when i took Exam they Gave me only 74 Questions in total including only Two PBQ’s.

2- First PBQ scenario goes like that … Its a network daigram have the FW and diff internal user … Log is provided for each user , i need to read all the logs of 6 users and determine from where This virus attack originated and determine for every user that is the User ( Clean, Infected , or originate this virus ) . Logs are long Atleast 12-15 Lines for each user.

3-Second PBQ fall to far from my knowledge i have no knowledge or experience for it ( Maybe its Non graded question ) . In this PBQ i need to fully configure two VPN concentrator. For Each VPN concentrator there are Atleast 12 Field u need to fill from the options given in the PBQ . The question are very Broad like choose the best Technology Available so its very Hard to answer it correctly.
I attempt it in last and Fire all the bullets i Had Left .

4-Other multi choice questions are not Hard I think they are easy but the choices given are hard to choose from.

Lastly if u are going to take exam go with Fresh Mind … Read questions very carefully sometimes only Two to Three words in whole question can make u choose different option from given choices. Some of them are Twisted questions Two to Three words can change whole scenario and u need to make the Right choice.

Pretty sure we got the same problem set, congrats on passing

Congrats on passing Sec+! Thanks for the helpful tips!

I had that same PBQ questions for my exam. Configuration of the two VPN did take me for a loop,

Hey i’ve took the messer practice exams and got 60 percent on the first two my first try, saving the third one. How was your first go around on the exams.

I have mine scheduled for tomorrow, and I am unsure yet as depending on the source of practice exams (for example LinkedIn learning, Mike C. Or Messer) the questions and focus is very different :sob: I am getting only 18 bad answers from 85 in Messer and I feel I have studied very hardly… literally read and made my own summaries on both Mike C. And Messer courses, I think I have a decent understanding of the material (+18 years experience working in IT) but I am still hesitant… should I reschedule?

Congrats dude! I’m studying for sec+ and your post is really helpful.

Quick question: are there any practical problems to solve in the exam? Something like “do this using our vm” and so on?

had the vpn condensor question today too haha

its moreover Net+ or CCNA question , out of scope for SEC+ exam i think.

Your score in practice exam is ideally be 85% but the least score is 77% if u don’t score 77% u are not ready. Mark all the questions from the two exams you did wrong and read their explanation and clear all your concepts

Go for it, you’ve prepared long enough, the worst thing that could happen is you have to retake which is fine

Buddy its not about memorizing things if your concepts are clear u are good to Go … The questions asked in the exam are in such a way that if your concepts are clear u can’t go wrong. Although Choices are similar go for the most accurate one And Most importantly Pump yourself you can sure do it u can’t go in an exam with doubtful attitude . Trust Yourself .

i explained two PBQ’s above similar to what u are asking

Will do! Hope to have good news tomorrow :star:

Just PASSED! 771… but a pass is a pass! LOL… I definitely overstudied compared to what the test is about.
