Pixel 8 VPN tile only controls Google 1 VPN?

Just upgraded from a Pixel 5a to a Pixel 8. On my 5a I had three VPNs I could choose to use: Google 1 VPN, Google Fi Legacy VPN, and PIA VPN. I mostly used the Google Fi Legacy VPN because that was the only one for which the ports are not blocked by my work WIFI.

On the Pixel 5a, I could connect and disconnect the Google Fi Legacy VPN using the tile in the pulldown at the top of the screen.

After upgrading, that tile seems to ONLY control the Google 1 VPN - and Google Fi Legacy is no longer an option.

On both phones, the PIA VPN has its own tile, separate from the Google VPN tile.

It was super convenient to have the VPN connect/disconnect button available with a quick swipe down. Has anyone else run into this problem and if so found a solve?

In an ideal world the solution would be “just use the Google 1 VPN” but with the ports blocked that’s not an option.

You can use Google Fi VPN… Turn off Google 1 VPN, now go into Google Fi app, Click on you name, scroll down to Privacy & Security on click on it, Toggle on “Protect your online activity”.

I did a poor job wording my question! You’re 100% right - I did finally figure out exactly what you outlined. What I can’t figure out is to how to use a tile in the pull-down menu to toggle the Google Fi VPN on and off when I need it. Any idea? The tile toggled the Fi VPN on my Pixel 5a but only seems to toggle the Google 1 VPN on my Pixel 8
