Security Restrictions

I’ve just switched back to Opera from Brave because I got tired of websites seeing me as a security risk, not accepting my correct password, or just plain not working. I was just blocked by several sites with Opera too, and am now locked out. Which specific privacy setting might help with this? How people even expected to browse the web like this, I don’t know.

What exactly happens when you try to access those sites? Maybe the issue is not with the browsers?

I constantly get security warnings constantly via email - attempts to login to my Opera account, Facebook, etc. - wants to confirm it was me, and lists my correct location & device). My correct password for a number of sites - discussion forums primarily - just won’t work in Opera, but will in Safari. Like Brave, something is masking my location and triggering a concern that I’m a bot. It’s definitely the browsers because every time some weirdness like this happens that’s associated with a security issue, it’s no problem in Safari or Firefox.

If it’s because your location is hidden, then you may try disabling the VPN.

Some pages/services will send you a email notification every time you login. Opera account is one of them.

Some pages/services may send you a notification if you are logging in from an IP address and/or location different from the usual one.

Do you use VPN or similar service? It may cause such issues.

Nah, it’s some setting that’s in place by default for both browsers. Kind of like the automatic redirecting to http"S", which created a very frustrating problem for me recently.
