Gouging like this achieves one thing, I’ll never use them again. And they’re Panama based so defo shady
This goes for all companies pulling this.
I’ll have my refund and hope to never hear from nord again

They state this in your Billing section:
To prevent disruption to your service, we’ll take your payment a little early for the annual and 2-year subscriptions (up to 14 days before the subscription expiration date).
Your fault for not cancelling your subscription beforehand.
Also, there is a reason why VPN companies are usually based OUTSIDE of countries like UK, USA or other EU countries and that is because the country has no mandatory data retention laws and does not participate in the Five Eyes or Fourteen Eyes intelligence sharing alliances.
Easy to complain when you’re in the wrong but want to seem right.
Every vpn provider is based outside of the us.
That’s what you want…
NordVPN clearly operates on a subscription basis, as stated in their Terms of Service. There’s also a disclaimer about the renewal price at checkout. They’re based in Panama because it has no mandatory data retention laws (their no-logs policy), this is also stated on their website here.
I just cancelled Nord after about three years of subscription. I got really tired of the vpn interfering all the time with my internet connection, especially after resuming the computer (on both Chromebook and Linux versions). The second I disconnected Nord, the internet would immediately pop back up.
I just renewed for two years for £54
If you turn off auto renewal they make you an offer in your last month
Waving legal terms is a fig leaf to mask an underlying scummy business model, which is to toggle auto-renew on by default and force the customer to toggle it off. I am not using NordVPN.
Turn off auto renewal
It’s dirty business practices though just bill on the date of expiration. They know what they’re doing here.
No. The point isn’t the auto renewal. It’s the cheeky doubling of the price. Note the cost is now more than 2 years, while only providing one.

Or are you cool with that approach?
