Use with iPhone isn't changing my location

I am trying to make this work on my iPhone. I have vpnd into Sweden but no matter what I do (turn of location services, significant locations, cellular data) when I google “Where am I” it still knows my exact location. The IP address is changing, so mullvad is working, but I can’t figure out how to get my iphone to not know where I am.

Is there some obvious setting I’m missing?

Google uses multiple methods to determine your location not just ip, if you search “what is my ip” do you get the same ip add as shown in the Mullvad app?

Strange. Google says I’m in the country I’m VPN’d into on my iPad (cellular model), so I have no idea what’s going on with yours.

Does the Mullvad connection check page (or any other IP checking page) show the server you’ve connected to?

When you say Google, is it the Google website in a browser (Safari, I assume) or the Google app?

Did you disable the location settings in Settings > Safari (or whatever browser you’re using) as well?

Could it be a cookie? Maybe try clearing browsing history.

Those are all the guesses I can make right now.

Could be cache, could be other methods of detecting location.

Check on a different website like ipleak or browserleaks.

You’re probably signed into your Google account.

You should use Startpage or Brave search they’re better for your privacy and Stattpage uses Google results

If I search what is my IP, my IP does change, so the VPN is working, but Im concerned when I get somewhere that doesnt have like Hulu for instance I wont be able to use it on my phone by vpning into the US

I cleared the cookies and moved a town over, turned off location services and turned on the vpn. Google didnt know where I was which was good, but it didnt snap to “your definitely in Sweden” like it does while Im on my laptop. It just thought I hadnt moved.

It would depend on Hulu’s location detection, the fact Google knowns your real location isn’t that relevant to be honest

to “your definitely

You still haven’t really explained what browser, device, etc. are you logged into an account like Google etc etc.

Doesnt support streaming? Doesnt it just reroute your traffic through a different server? I didnt realize specific support for streaming was necessary
