Using IP Vanish and Proton VPN both VPNs on Shield have download speeds of around 140-190 Mbps( same as when my service was 250 down) while my ISP service is now 550 down. I’ve tried multiple locations and protocols and those speeds are the best I get. Also all software/ OS are on current versions. Shield, Router and Modem have been rebooted multiple times and newest version of software uninstalled/installed. IPV6 is off on Shield and router. Running IP Vanish on iPad albeit on WiFi I do not see anywhere near the same percentage hit on download speeds.
Vendors say it’s a Shield issue, Nvidia says it’s a VPN issue. Any suggestions as to how I go about identifying problem? Any insight to this issue would be appreciated.
If you’re using a VPN because you’re using Kodi, think about getting real debrid. You’ll get better content and won’t need a VPN.
Try different VPN servers, some are faster than others
There doesn’t seem to be any issues with what you are experiencing. If you had 1GB speeds, the result would be the same, going through a VPN will slow you down. What are your expectations?

My expectations are that at 250 download speed from ISP I was getting a bit better download speed with VPN than when I increased ISP download speed to 500Mbps down. Why would 1G down still yield 140-190 with VPN ? IP Vanish believes it should be better but has no clue why it isn’t.
Yeah real debrid is encrypted. No need for a VPN.
