I’m out of the loop and want the juicy details
Einsteins disstrack just leaked
Newton is in the studio right now crafting up an equal and opposite reaction to it
Multiple people looked up the questions on chegg during an honorlocked exam. The prof is withholding scores until the whole situation is resolved
Nothing crazy, just some idiot decided to Chegg the exam and now the profs are withholding scores until they “have it resolved.”
I think someone posted an exam question on chegg during the exam…
I have Weatherford so I’m not totally in the loop, but apparently some kids in McGill/Ray’s class cheated on the last exam and it’s a whole thing now
Someone posted an exam question on chegg DURING THE EXAM
Some people posted exam 1 questions for PHY2053 on Chegg, so grades are hidden right now until they can figure out who did it and punish them.
Is that what you’re referring to?
Someone posted an exam question on Chegg.
I think someone used chegg on one of the honorlock exam questions but I’m not sure
I heard someone posted exam questions on chegg, but that’s about it
I know there’s already been several answers, but to be more specific, we had an exam Thursday. Friday morning we got this canvas announcement:
“We were very saddened to find that several of our exam questions were posted on Chegg. We are in the process of obtaining the identifying information from Chegg and will be fully prosecuting those who posted the questions and accessed the solutions during the exam. In the meantime we have to hold all exam results until we have this sorted out.”
So now we’re all just waiting for our grades because of some idiots
So you comments are telling me that… someone actually went to chegg’s website… during an exam while their fucking screen was being recorded? I refuse to believe someone is that stupid
So what happens to this person? And how did they find out
Huh? I’m in phy2049 and afaik nothings happened, is it in another course?
This is a platinum joke
I’m honestly curious. How can someone access chegg during the exam? Are they using the same laptop they’re using for the exam while Honorlock is on?
Chegg works with universities on stuff like this. They’ll provide UF with all the relevant data, like the users who posted questions (their names, emails, device IPs which typically are whatever router they’re connected to, which is easy proof in a lot of cases), anyone who interacted with the question whom they have data for (likely not included unless it’s tied to a UF router), etc.
I feel that a lot of people don’t realize that their devices are super easy to track. Your devices don’t have their own IPs, they basically just use the routers IP. So if you connect to Chegg, they see a UF router’s IP and then whatever port belongs to your device. And because your devices are registered with UF, they can easily figure out it was yours.
As for what happens, it’s really up to the professor. If they send you to honor court, you’ll go through that whole process and the prof recommends a punishment. If the prof is angry enough, they can pursue severe punishments.
Not totally sure how they were found out, but I would assume they were found since some professors will check Chegg to see if any of their questions get posted. Consequences could range from failing the exam to failing the class depending on what is decided.
Yeah I don’t really know her but I feel bad, I imagine she’s a good teacher
