Is firefox so bad that you would rather use anything else?
All subjective, it’s not bad but it sure has it’s own share of problems as well. That might be why people still prefer Chromium over it, which is totally fine.
I use both Vivaldi and Thorium now, I uninstalled Brave today.
Because it’s half correct, the service isn’t started, the program is though added to your startup and set to start each time you boot.

Yeah i love Firefox, on Mac i can customize the full screen videos not to have native mac animatinos and its fast now.
There is an option however you have to wait for a day for the tabs to be discarded.

It is so sad that what you describe is a feature from google developers and not a firefox bug. I use firefox because im convinced that using chromium based browsers will shot back to me one day.

funnily enough, after posting this comment i tried my firefox based browser again (floorp), and youtube was magically working better than in chromium. Looks like upstream firefox fixed something. Have never ditched a web browser so fast, I instantly switched back. Vanilla chromium sucks and constantly annihilates all of my cookies and forces me to press the restore tabs button every time, vivaldi on linux is unstable for no reason, opera on linux is also unstable for no reason, i dont feel like installing brave. Only chromium based browser i’ve found that works without issue on linux is microsoft edge but i dont think i need to explain why im not using that. glad firefox fixed this issue so i don’t have to use any of those anymore.

Google Chrome is overrated af, it have thousands of tracking methods, it’s worse than many of its forks, it doesn’t offer anything special except one thing, playing dirty, and it’s not like people didn’t have proof about their dirty acts:
